At this special Jubilee evening of culture and entertainment at the Grand Ballroom, Fullerton Hotel is Guest of Honour is President Tony Tan Keng Yam, himself a Baba.

28th Baba Nyonya Convention 2015

Peranakn Arts FestivalThe 28th Baba Nyonya Convention is held in Singapore starting from 4 November 2015, to 8 November 2015, and the three associations :

  • The Peranakan Association
  • Gunong Sayang Association
  • Association of Chetti Melaka (Peranakan Indians)

are the hosts for Singapore convention.

We encourage all Peranakan Indians to attend the Baba Nyonya Convention since it is held in Singapore this year.     There is a cost to attend the various functions of the Convention events , if you are interested in attending kindly email : chettymelaka@gmail.com , for further details. 

The Convention is held at same time as the Peranakan Arts Festival 2015  which will be the first time that the Peranakan culture will be expressed through Theatre, Music and the Arts in a 5-day Festival featuring 2 World Premiere Theatre shows, 3 Seminars, free public performances and a myriad of exhibitions and showcases artworks by Peranakan visual artistes and a bustling bazaar with exclusive Peranakan merchandise on sale!

Entrance: The Bazaar, Exhibition and Cultural performances are free and open to the public.

On the schedule are visiting Peranakan performers from the Asia Pacific region – including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. Enjoy a full feature of some of our forgotten art forms and practices and revel in the music, songs and dances!

WORKSHOPS
We have a planned an exciting range of fun workshops during the Peranakan Festival. All workshops will be held at The Peranakan Museum between Nov 6 – 8, 2015. Workshop times will be planned according to signups so register for your workshop today!
